Many still have the "old school" mentality in believing that we sit around all day, playing cards, grab ass or taking naps. They have no idea how many hours of training it takes to maintain our certifications, health and physical abilities.

I'm NOT a "cut and paste", catchy Headline or shared video site.... I'm something different ... I just don't know what it is yet ...LMAO.

As you can tell, this show has a little of everything and something for everyone!If you've never attended, you need to make your plans NOW. In my mind, SAFRE has grown bigger and better than Firehouse Expo in Baltimore (which we attended last weekend and you can read about HERE )

The Fire Critic (Rhett Fleitz), Andrew Catron (The Model City Firefighter) and I just attended the South Atlantic Fire Rescue Expo in Raleigh, NC.... WE HAD A BLAST!

I always worried that what she had to hear me say and do would affect her. That it would affect how she handled the incident and that, in turn; would affect the other companies / members. It never did. Like Cindy, Sarah was a good dispatcher.

The two beautiful young ladies by his side in the picture above right worked at what I could only imagine being some type of Sports Bar. The place was called "Scores". I assume it's one of those places that have twenty of so televisions on the walls so that their customers can keep up the "scores" of their favorite sport / game?

Again, getting an attack line into service quickly and efficiently resulted in the saving of lives and property. The fire was held to the room of origin but a couple units sustained water damage while the entire building suffered smoke damage.

The fire was mainly contained to the "attic" area. Crews were met with high heat stretching in to the seat. The house had a slate roof on a steep pitch which made ventilating a little interesting.

I received several updates yesterday / last night concerning Ian’s viewing. I’m told he is wearing his Fire Department uniform, that he’s holding his pager and his casket is painted fire engine red. I’ve also been made aware that the Brothers and Sisters from Lancaster City have sent an Honor Guard detail….. a very fitting send off for our friend. ...
