Here in "The Noke", our brothers and sisters were also faced with battleing two fires ... one residential and, the second; a commercial multi-alarm fire.

We’re fighting on all fronts here in “the Noke”. Our biggest battle right now has Retired Battalion Chief Bobby Slayton fighting to recover. I’m afraid his condition has not improved. Actually, he was moved earlier today to  Pallative Care  in room 1040. The family is now accepting visitors in moderation. Mikey Overacker has some great shots of Chief Slayton’s retirement ...

As with all his postings, it is well written and touching. He somewhat "opens up" in the post. That's something most Firemen have a difficult time doing. He showed personal feelings. He showed he cares. He is passionate about our profession and strong in his beliefs. Something in this post upset him and it showed... he cursed...
