This year, Indy on Fire ; our party during FDIC will benefit the non-profit organization 24-7 Commitment.
Whether you are attending FDIC or not, you can help support firefighters and their families through this great organization!
24-7 Commitment was founded by our good friend Lori Mercer, the inspiration behind the popular Firefighter Wife blog .
On a mission to honor, strengthen and support first responder marriages and families. 24-7 Commitment offers a safe community, along with tools and resources designed specifically for the firefighting community.
These include online communities, guided marriage support programs, local fire events, live workshops and commitment weekends for firefighters and their spouses.
“Commitment Weekends used to be called “Flame Fest”. You can read about my and the Fire Critic’s experiences from attending HERE and HERE .
24-7 Commitment also offers many downloadable resources such as video series, articles and more. In short, 24-7 Commitment bridges the gap for firefighters and families to form a support community and have access to resources that are typically not available at their local department level. This also alleviates the need for departments to invest in creating these programs on their own so they can focus on keeping firefighters well trained and safe on the job.
