The members ended up "hand jacking" several hundred feet of 5" supply line off the Interstate and through adjoining yards to reach neighborhood hydrants. They were thinking "outside the box" and got the job done!

I’ve been thinking a lot about the FOOLS and what they stand for over the past few days. Their Mission Statement says ” The F.O.O.L.S. exemplify the true meaning of the Brotherhood by providing training opportunities to Brother and Sister Firefighters ...

I often hear people on the job talk about the mythical "Brotherhood" and how it either doesn't exist or is fading. I couldn't disagree more.

In preparation, I'm going to take Rhett to a tattoo parlor sometime this week. I'm going to have the devil put on one of his knees and the great Chicago fire on the other. It will be more realistic that way because Rhett wearing a kilt is going to look like HELL! LMAO !

Here in "The Noke", we have a GREAT working relationship with our Brothers in Blue (Police Department). You never read it in our paper or see it on the news but we see a lot of shootings, stabbings and just general assaults. Having a good and trusting relationship between Fire/EMS and Police is crucial on these types of incidents.

That's where I have a small problem ... I always have my helmets "blessed" before placing them into service and I've decided to ask our newly appointed Department Chaplin, Father Sandy Webb; to do it for me. We've actually spoken about it before so I'm sure he will, it's just that he's currently out of the Country.

You know what they say about firefighters.... we will figure it out someway or another AND ... if we can't fix it, we will fix it (break) so nobody else can ! LOL
