If you haven't heard, Dave's web site, Statter 911.com (which Rhett Fleitz created right after Al Gore invented the internet) is turning 8 years old. That's 8 years as a HUGE success in the Fire / EMS Blogging industry.

I don't have to hear a bunch of bitching and crying when I say we have to do this or that. They know I wouldn't ask something of them unless it was necessary for one reason or another.

What I found at Pleasant Hill (and really anywhere I go in NC) was refreshing. We've only gotten together a few times since but always talk online, via phone etc every chance we get. Chief Chatman is a good person and I'm HONORED to call him a friend and BROTHER.

The American Flag flying from a New York Hook and then the words that encompass everything I stand for ... TRADITION, PRIDE HONOR AND RESPECT .... BROTHERHOOD!

Doing "The Right Thing" isn't about me. It's not about making myself look better in the eyes of someone who may or may not even have a clue about "The Right Thing". It's not about impressing someone. It shouldn't be for you either. If it is ... then maybe you're missing the mark. Maybe you're NOT "Doing The Right Thing" after all. Maybe you're in the wrong place.

Who’s going to FDIC this year? My thoughts and prayers are with the Delp family as well as with the firefighters and First Responders who made a valiant effort in attempting their rescue. I know some of the responders personally and have spoken with them. Obviously, their hearts are heavy but it appears they have a good support network in place and are utilizing it.

Here's another thing today's "deflated ball" rants / debates have totally missed.... the "condition" or cleanliness of the balls.

Andrew "gets it". Tradition, Pride, Honor, Respect and the Brotherhood can be found in each article he posts.

So what are your thoughts? Is it the Chiefs who control"the strings" or is it City / County Administration (the politicians )? Is the old saying about the "poop" running down hill true or do we .... the "boots on the street" also have a say in the direction a Department takes?
