Just like last year, The Fire Critic and I will be having another "meet up". This year, we have teamed up with several other groups / organizations to make the event even bigger and better than last years! I know ... you don't know how that can be possible but TRUST ME .... you will NOT want to miss this event!! This year, we are calling it The 2014 Firefighter Turnout and you wont want to miss it!

For us, it's not so much about supporting Career vs. Volunteer; it's about supporting the Fire Service. It's about being PROFESSIONAL, doing the job and even more than that .... it's about DOING THE RIGHT THING. It's about supporting our Brothers and Sisters who are out there in the street day after day.... on the FRONT LINES of America sacrificing themselves and all that they have in the service of others. It's WHO WE ARE and a pay check will and can NOT define us.

Well, like I said; the past few weeks have had me back to square one and been difficult to cope with at home and on the job. This past cycle however has put me back on the path I need to be on.

I don't know if we should rent a tux, wear our Class A's or just be our normal selves and rock our kilts on the red carpet!

"Charleston 9: The Ultimate Sacrifice", looks at the dramatic changes made in the operations of South Carolina's Charleston Fire Department following the deaths of nine firefighters on June 18, 2007.

Live Video begins at 6:30pm on Saturday evening and 10am Sunday morning.

There is a lot more than corn and soy beans growing in South Dakota .... the BROTHERHOOD is not only alive and well out there, it's flourishing!

You can't be 100% committed to this profession and not become emotionally attached. My Pride in and for the job sometimes allows my emotion to spill over to my writing. I allow it to happen in hopes that the honesty in my stories may have a positive impact on another Brother or Sister out there somewhere.

Crews were able to locate one person dead inside the home. Further details of the fire, the name, age etc of the victim can not be released at this time. Notification of family members of the deceased are still pending and the investigation into the cause of the fire continues.

SPECIAL THANKS to Seal Team 6 for a job well done. I only wish that his death could have been much slower and painful. The thousands that he murdered and the many more he left behind suffered. He should have too.
