You can't be 100% committed to this profession and not become emotionally attached. My Pride in and for the job sometimes allows my emotion to spill over to my writing. I allow it to happen in hopes that the honesty in my stories may have a positive impact on another Brother or Sister out there somewhere.

This tactic allows us to keep a large percentage of our fires contained to the room of origin. The "trick" to this tactic is that ventilation MUST be coordinated with the attack. If not, and the fog nozzle was deployed; these types of injuries can occur.

Crews were able to locate one person dead inside the home. Further details of the fire, the name, age etc of the victim can not be released at this time. Notification of family members of the deceased are still pending and the investigation into the cause of the fire continues.

It was another GREAT show and experience for us. We have a good time anywhere we go but this trip was AWESOME! If you didn't make it, start planning now to join us in 2013 back in Chicago.

Even the days when thousands of people don't need us, there are still several hundred who do. We are always working ... even on our days off.

His daughter, Caroline just graduated Valedictorian of her class and remembered her father in a way that only a daughter could. The story made me proud to be a father, to know Caroline and to have known and worked with her father.

In these times of cut backs in staffing, salaries, station closings / brown outs etc .. who else is on our side? In preparation, I'm going to take Rhett to a tattoo parlor sometime this week. I'm going to have the devil put on one of his knees and the great Chicago fire on the other. It will be more realistic that way because Rhett wearing a kilt is going to look like HELL! LMAO !

When you hear the word "Brotherhood" spoken, most of us associate it with the larger Departments in the Country. The FDNY always comes to mind for most but, you hardly ever hear about the "small town USA" Volunteer Fire Company.

Talking about these situations in a classroom setting is one thing but getting "hands on" for actual experience is invaluable.
