How many times can you read an article / post and then turn around and call or directly message the Author? Our contact information is posted on our sites / pages. We enjoy and encourage interaction and contact from our readers.

First off, I need to say THANK YOU for all the Christmas cards, and messages I received. I personally read each of them and can tell you that they helped lift my spirits (sorry I haven't replied to them all) . I cried every day after coming home to see the fresh stack awaiting me on the kitchen counter. It is very humbling to know that so many of you out there are thinking and care so much about me and my family.

Even the days when thousands of people don't need us, there are still several hundred who do. We are always working ... even on our days off.

When you hear the word "Brotherhood" spoken, most of us associate it with the larger Departments in the Country. The FDNY always comes to mind for most but, you hardly ever hear about the "small town USA" Volunteer Fire Company.

That's where I have a small problem ... I always have my helmets "blessed" before placing them into service and I've decided to ask our newly appointed Department Chaplin, Father Sandy Webb; to do it for me. We've actually spoken about it before so I'm sure he will, it's just that he's currently out of the Country.
