I'm not sure what I've done to deserve the life I've been given this past year but I am truly THANKFUL. Together, Rhett and I have made the journey of a lifetime in just a few short years. I can only imagine what 2012 will bring us.

Here in "The Noke", we take a lot on pride in holding a majority of our fires to "room and content". Despite older homes and balloon construction, we do a good job at getting water on the fire quickly and efficiently.

The Roanoke Regional Training Academy graduated Recruit Class #14 this past Friday (July 8, 2011).

I almost forgot that I have a ton of “local” stuff that I need to get out and since it’s after 6pm and I’m still here, I had better get to it. Yea… I’ve been absent a few days.  I gotta tell ya … it’s just been tough lately.  I’m pulling my 24’s at the firehouse and then working as hard as I can … finding anything that will pay to try and keep the farm “out of the red”. I’m worn out. We’re hauling any and everything, working other folks cattle ...

And  NO, I’m not talking about a Medic  LMAO!!! ( just kidding guys). I am talking about our wives or girlfriends. As big, bad and tough as we think we are…. take a minute and think about the women who keep us going. Taking a little heat, some smoke, a little hard labor… that’s nothing compared  what most firefighters put ...

I received several questions as to the smoke condition from the attic / roof. Apparently, the picture wasn't large enough for some to see so I'll put it up again in a larger size ... I'll also highlight some smoke for ya ...

Yea … I’m alive and I know that I have a lot of catching up to do. All the “expressions” fit …. Busy as “a one legged man in an ass kicking contest” .. as  “a cat covering up sh**” …. a ” two ….ummm … errrr well anyway … I’ve been busy LMAO! Working multiple jobs, doctoring a sick ...

I mentioned in the last post that it’s snowing here in Va. and that has me in the Christmas mood! I can’t wait to go to the Mall and let Santa’s little helper sit on my lap. Ummmm… errrrrrrrr… wait…I mean I can’t wait to I sit on her lap. Ahhhhhhhh…no,  I mean I can’t wait to sit on …… ...
