The Fire Critic and I recently got a couple of products from Fire Melon USA to review and share our thoughts on.
Rhett got the Bunker Gear Backpack while I received the Bunker Gear Station Duffle Bag.
We could have switched the bags easily as the name plates are Velcro backed and interchangeable.
The honest answer is that if I had to choose one of the two, it would be a difficult decision. I’m very happy with the duffle bag and Im actually using it today as I’m working some trade time for a Brother at another Station.
It’s 21″ long by 11″ wide and 11″ deep! It even has 2 cargo pockets that are 2″ deep, 6″ high by 11.5″ wide.
It has more than enough room for my “street clothes” , a change of uniform, shower bag, towel and bed linens. As a matter of fact, what I packed today didn’t come close to filling it up.
It’s big enough to hold everything I need yet small enough that it’s not too “bulky” and rides well inside my personal vehicle. It’s ideal for everyday travel to and from the station, when detailed out, going to the gym or where ever.
Not only is this duffle bag practical for firefighters, it’s pretty cool looking as well because it’s made from actual Bunker Gear! Fire Melon’s attention to detail is so on target that they even line the bag with our quilted Thermal barrier! This is BRAND NEW material too… not used or re-purposed.
Our Station Duffle Bag is great for going to the station or a weekend road trip. Made from Kelvar®/ Nomex® ripstop for the outer fabric and lined with quilted Thermal Barrier – the same material as your bunker gear. It has large cargo pockets on either side, a dual-handle carry strap with integral suede grip, and a detachable shoulder strap.
- Choose Black, Brown (Khaki), or Tan (Gold) with Yellow/ Silver Reflective trim.
- Customize your bag by adding Reflective Letters/ Number sewn to to aMatching or Black Velcro Name Panel.
- Length 21″, Width 11″, Height 11″
- Cargo Pockets: Height 6″, Width 11.5″, Depth 2″
