The members ended up "hand jacking" several hundred feet of 5" supply line off the Interstate and through adjoining yards to reach neighborhood hydrants. They were thinking "outside the box" and got the job done!

In my experiences, planes rarely crash on airport property and that can work out to be good or bad. Personally, I'd rather they crash off site so I can get to it. Despite being in a big red fire truck, it takes an act of congress for us to get out onto airport property.

As far as I can tell, there were 2 fatalities, two transported and several others injured. The incident shut down both lanes (directions of travel) of a major highway through the city.
