Funeral arrangements for Lt. Kevin McRae of DC Fire & EMS

11193343_10152965399062893_5804487428011384467_nDC Fire & EMS Lt. Kevin McRae collapsed after descending the stairs with his crew following a fire on the 9th floor of an apartment building located at 1330 7th Street NW.

He was serving as the Officer In Charge for Engine Company #6 on the 4th platoon.

Lt McRae joined the Department as a cadet on July 31, 1989.

He is survived   by his wife, three children and his mother.

Lt. Kevin McRae is the 100th DC firefighter to die in the line-of-duty.

From Statter911, “The last line-of-duty-death for the DC Fire and EMS Department was Lt. McRae’s cousin, Technician James McRae III, who died on July 7, 2007. James McRae was tillerman at Truck 12 when he complained of shortness of breath while in quarters and died later that day (more on James McRae’s death)”.
